Item type:Наукова стаття, Educational Approaches to Cultivating Environmental Consciousness among Higher Education Students in Ukraine(Grassroots Institute, 2024-12) Kyseliuk, Nataliia; Martyniuk, Alla; Hubina, Alla; Alyieva, Alvina; Litkovych, Yuliia; Tryndiuk, VflentynaIn the face of escalating environmental challenges such as climate change, resource depletion, and biodiversity loss, higher education institutions (HEIs) play a critical role in fostering environmental consciousness among future professionals. The research aims to analyze current pedagogical strategies, examine innovative development and digitalization factors, and explore how higher education can promote sustainable environmental consciousness among graduates. A combination of complementary methods, including analysis, synthesis and abstraction were used. The essential structural elements of the system of ecological consciousness, as well as the criteria and indicators of its formation, are also defined. Results revealed that the main prerequisites for low environmental awareness among students of higher education institutions in Ukraine are the insufficient development of civil society institutions, lack of motivation to comply with environmental legislation, and an inadequate level of public awareness of sustainable development and environmental stewardship priorities. Environmental education in higher education is often delivered in a traditionally minimalist format, with a narrow sectorial focus that fails to adequately foster environmental awareness development among future professionals. An innovative vision of the pedagogical strategy for forming environmental awareness of students of higher education institutions through fundamental life values, attitudes towards the intrinsic value of nature, and society's responsibility for their conservation and sustainable development is proposed.Item type:Наукова стаття, Linguistic and pragmatic aspects of communication in the modern media world(Malaysia: University of Technology Malaysia, 2024-05-07) Kyseliuk, Nataliia; Mialkovska, Liudmyla; Sternichuk, Vita; Yanovets, Anzhelika; Hubina, Alla; Zabiiaka, Iryna; Kriukova, YuliyaTaking into account the purposeful activity of modern man, his acquisition of enormous masses of information during a short period, the communication aspect of communication in the business sphere has gradually turned from a means of enjoyment, length, and unhurried language interaction into a means of accurate, short and simultaneous full communication of a problem, initiative, proposal. Communication pragmatics came to the aid of such language transformations. The article proves that pragmalinguistics studies speech communication as a manifestation of speech activity – purposeful influence on each other (persuasion, persuasion, request for information, etc.) using language. To achieve their communicative goals, depending on the context and situation, their communicative roles, the speaker and the addressee use certain speech acts (written as sentences) corresponding to these goals – stating facts, encouraging action, etc. It is scientifically determined that the emergence of ecolinguistics is due to the need to solve the problems of interaction between language, man and nature. It is indicated that it covers extremely diverse research that reflects the importance of environmental issues in society. The attention given to issues of environmental protection at all levels of society, and as a result, the relevance of environmental issues, as well as the peculiarities of communication in the field of environmental protection, allow us to distinguish a separate type of discourse - ecological, which is characterized by the constant addition of the ecological glossary, the emergence of special axiological units, the presence of separate status.Item type:Наукова стаття, Non-Verbal Means of Communication in the Representation of the Emotional State of Joy in Modern English Fictional Discourse(Warsaw: Institute of Slavic Studies, Polish Academy of Sciences, 2020) Kyseliuk, Nataliia; Hubina, Alla; Martyniuk, Alla; Tryndiuk, ValentynаThis article concerns the study of the non-verbal means of communication designating the emotional state of joy which are present in fictional discourse. The functional peculiarities of non-verbal means designating the emotional state of joy are specified. It is proved that the register of non-verbal components indicating joy includes facial expressions, gestures, phonation, and the like. The subsystems of kinesic and phonatory non-verbal components are the dominant ones. Fictional discourse including representations of joy contains both verbal and non-verbal means of designating the emotional state, functioning either separately or in interaction. This interaction is based on the concept of emotional valence and is represented in repetition, contradiction, substitution, complementation, emphasis and regulation. In an utterance, non-verbal means can occur in the initial, medial, and final positions. The most common models of the occurrence of non-verbal components denoting joy in utterances are revealed.Item type:Навчальний посібник, English for Academic Purposes(Lutsk: LNTU, 2026) Martyniuk, Alla ; Kyseliuk, NataliiaНавчальний посібник «English for Academic Purposes» розроблений для здобувачів третього (освітньо-наукового) рівня вищої освіти Луцького національного технічного університету. KeywordsItem type:Наукова стаття, Peculiarities of Using Stylistic Means in American Artistic Discourse(Toronto, Canada: Sciedu Press, 2023) Martyniuk, Alla; Hubina, Alla; Kyseliuk, Nataliia; Tryndiuk, Valentyna; Voitenko, Iryna; Shevchuk, AnastasiiaThe article analyzes the use of stylistic means in contemporary American novels about the challenges of postmodern society, such as terrorist attacks, loneliness in digital reality, and digital technologies. Descriptive, continuous sampling, dictionary definitions, and contextual and component analysis methods were used to analyze the language material from novels by Douglas Coupland and Don DeLillo. The analyzed stylistic units were diverse and characterized by an emotional and evaluative component, with negative assessments being the most common. The units were divided into thematic groups, such as drugs, money, human behavior, and success/failure. The place and role of stylistic units in the novels were related to their content and stylistic features, with colloquial lexical items playing a significant role in creating a special atmosphere. The study also identified prospects for analyzing current trends in the development of English spoken language based on the works of contemporary American authors. The article concludes that excerpts from the analyzed novels can be used in the study of professional terminology and in seminars on the course "Features of literary translation" to help students compare online terminology and Internet jargon in English and Ukrainian. The Internet as an object of fiction and the use of these works of fiction in teaching English deserve further study.
