(2025-02-22) Minin, Mykyta; Tverezovska, Nina; Tabakar, Kristina; Kunchenko, Daria; Babii, Mykola; Barzylovych, Anastasiia
Introduction: the article addresses the issue of state policy aimed at comprehensive psychological support and rehabilitation of the population in the context of sustainable development. Method: the research was conducted based on empirical experience of effective management decisions in Ukraine over the past three years of the Russian-Ukrainian war, using a comprehensive approach involving analysis, synthesis, descriptive, empirical (survey method), and structural methods. Results: the study measured stress levels in different age categories before and after group psychological training sessions (duration – 2 months) to assess the effectiveness of group psychological support sessions for internally displaced persons using the PSM-25 Lemyr-Tessier-Fillion stress measurement methodology. The empirical study was conducted at the Resilience Centre (Ivano-Frankivsk) as a shelter for internally displaced persons during 2023-2024 and covered 120 people from various age groups of internally displaced persons. The results obtained from the PSM-25 Lemyr-Tessier-Fillion stress measurement method indicate significant effectiveness of group psychological training for all age groups. As statistics show, the high stress level of all respondents decreased by 7 %, and the low level by 6 %. Conclusions: thus, 31 % of respondents reported a high-stress level after completing group training sessions, the lowest figure compared to the percentage of respondents with medium and low-stress levels. The highest indicator, 37 %, was observed in the adolescent age group (15-22 years), which is quite logical, as at this age, there is reduced capacity for self-regulation of emotional background.

A Data-Driven Risk-Informed Decision Support Framework for Sustainable Municipal Organic Waste Management in Smart Cities
    (2026-06-08) Rudynets, Mykola; Fedorchuk-Moroz, Valentyna
The rapid growth of organic waste volumes in urban areas and increasing environmental pressures necessitate the transition toward sustainable and risk-informed municipal waste management systems. This study aims to develop a data-driven decision support framework for the risk-informed management of municipal organic waste within the context of sustainable urban development. The proposed approach integrates multi-source municipal data, advanced preprocessing techniques, entropy-based feature weighting, and an ensemble of machine learning models, including Random Forest, Gradient Boosting, and XGBoost. An integrated environmental risk index is formulated to quantify the state of the waste management system and to support predictive analytics. The results demonstrate high predictive performance and reveal that key risk drivers include demographic pressure, transport accessibility, infrastructure characteristics, and seasonal variability of waste generation. The developed framework enables the integration of predictive risk analytics into municipal decision support systems, facilitating optimized waste collection logistics, infrastructure planning, and early identification of critical conditions. The findings confirm that data-driven approaches can significantly enhance the efficiency and adaptability of urban waste management systems. The proposed framework contributes to sustainable urban development by supporting circular economy principles and enabling proactive, risk-aware governance of municipal organic waste systems.

Activities of Professor Tomasz Rylski (1838‒1924) in the birth and development of tests of agricultural machines in the second half of the 19th century
(Kyiv: DUIT , 2023) Klymenko, Mykhailo
The aim of the study is a comprehensive assessment of the activity, scientific and creative achievements of Professor Tomasz Nikodem Ścibor-Rylski in the development of the field of testing agricultural machines in the second half of the 19th century. To achieve the aim of the study, the principles of historicism, scientificity and objectivity of coverage of historical phenomena and events were used based on the application of the historical-scientific method, methods of analysis and generalization. For the first time, a number of archival documents were introduced into scientific circulation, which shed light on the scientist's activities in the field of testing agricultural machines. In the article, based on archival data, the available creative work of the scientist, the main stages of his activity in the issue of the origin and formation of tests of agricultural machines and tools are updated. The activities of Professor T. Rylski contributed to the birth of the scientific foundations of agricultural tests, the formation of the principles of rational use of agricultural equipment by farmers of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. The professor's long-term participation in various agricultural exhibitions and competitions led to the laying of the foundations for the creation of the first agricultural testing station in Dublyany on the territory of western Ukraine. Justifying the need to create a test station, T. Rylski relies on the importance of the transition from the "exhibition" method of testing agricultural machines to testing at specialized stations. The scientist believed that it is the scientific approach to testing that will contribute to increasing the efficiency of the use of agricultural equipment and reducing errors during its operation. The formation of the Dublyany Higher Agricultural School, as a powerful scientific and testing center on the territory of modern Ukraine and Poland, is connected with the scientist's name. The creative heritage of T. Rylski indicates his invaluable contribution to the emergence of the scientific foundations of agricultural equipment testing. Therefore, it is precisely the absence of a special comprehensive study of scientific, creative and organizational activity of a scientist in the historiography of science and technology that determines the relevance of this study.

This article concerns the study of the non-verbal means of communication designating the emotional state of joy which are present in fictional discourse. The functional peculiarities of non-verbal means designating the emotional state of joy are specified. It is proved that the register of non-verbal components indicating joy includes facial expressions, gestures, phonation, and the like. The subsystems of kinesic and phonatory non-verbal components are the dominant ones. Fictional discourse including representations of joy contains both verbal and non-verbal means of designating the emotional state, functioning either separately or in interaction. This interaction is based on the concept of emotional valence and is represented in repetition, contradiction, substitution, complementation, emphasis and regulation. In an utterance, non-verbal means can occur in the initial, medial, and final positions. The most common models of the occurrence of non-verbal components denoting joy in utterances are revealed.

Peculiarities of Using Stylistic Means in American Artistic Discourse
(Toronto, Canada: Sciedu Press, 2023) Martyniuk, Alla; Hubina, Alla; Kyseliuk, Nataliia; Tryndiuk, Valentyna; Voitenko, Iryna; Shevchuk, Anastasiia
The article analyzes the use of stylistic means in contemporary American novels about the challenges of postmodern society, such as terrorist attacks, loneliness in digital reality, and digital technologies. Descriptive, continuous sampling, dictionary definitions, and contextual and component analysis methods were used to analyze the language material from novels by Douglas Coupland and Don DeLillo. The analyzed stylistic units were diverse and characterized by an emotional and evaluative component, with negative assessments being the most common. The units were divided into thematic groups, such as drugs, money, human behavior, and success/failure. The place and role of stylistic units in the novels were related to their content and stylistic features, with colloquial lexical items playing a significant role in creating a special atmosphere. The study also identified prospects for analyzing current trends in the development of English spoken language based on the works of contemporary American authors. The article concludes that excerpts from the analyzed novels can be used in the study of professional terminology and in seminars on the course "Features of literary translation" to help students compare online terminology and Internet jargon in English and Ukrainian. The Internet as an object of fiction and the use of these works of fiction in teaching English deserve further study.
