Problems of information cyber security in the financial sector
(Prague, 2022-06-10) Andrushchak, Igor; Kosheliuk, Viktor; Volodymyr, Podoliak
The damage of a targeted impact on financial organizations due to the activation of hacker groups is analyzed. These attacks were mainly directed at the processing of bank cards, ATMs and at the SWIFT system, which is an international system for transmitting financial information and payments. Currently, special attention is paid to the attacks of hacker groups that receive funding from governments and criminal groups to influence the world's leading banks. Based on the assessment of the impact of computer attacks, it was concluded that the banking sector is a vulnerable sector of the economy before computer attacks on information systems that can damage not only small, but also large backbone credit institutions that own more than 60% of the total assets of the banking sector.

Audit of information infrastructure objects using DNS tunnel technology
(Kraków, 2026-06-05) Andrushchak, Igor; Kosheliuk, Viktor
This paper investigates the application of DNS tunnel technology as a method for auditing information infrastructure objects by assessing the resilience of network security controls and monitoring mechanisms. The proposed approach demonstrates how controlled DNS tunneling can be used to identify weaknesses in traffic inspection, intrusion detection, and data exfiltration prevention while ensuring that security assessments are conducted in an authorized and measurable manner. The study discusses the effectiveness of the proposed auditing methodology and provides recommendations for improving the detection and mitigation of covert DNS-based communication channels in modern information infrastructures.

Prospects for the development of blockchain technology in corporate information systems
(2025-05-27) Tulashvili, Yuriy; Lukianchuk, Iurii; Kosheliuk, Viktor
Over the past decade, blockchain technology has undergone rapid development and is recognized as one of the pivotal information technologies driving industrial transformation. Today, blockchain technology offers a promising solution to the problems faced by corporate information systems. Namely, with the help of appropriate measures of anonymization and preservation of confidentiality, the blockchain enhances data security, reduces the risk of unauthorized access, and ensures user privacy in corporate systems. Blockchain technology increases transparency, allowing users to monitor and verify the content of information, assess the integrity of data stores. In recent years, blockchain has become a subject of interest for state governments, multinational corporations, and major financial institutions. Today, considerable attention is paid to the development of private (corporate) blockchains. This article examines the prospects and development of blockchain technology in corporate information systems. The study is aimed at providing additional clarity regarding the concept of blockchain applications in corporate information systems. Existing enterprise applications cannot operate seamlessly with traditional transactional requirements when integrating blockchain technology. Therefore, they will have to be modified with inclusion in the existing data storage for asynchronous interaction with distributed nodes of the blockchain. A scheme of the principle of interaction of nodes-storages that support data synchronization and their current states are proposed. This scheme is based on a blockchain structure centered around cloud storage as a corporate document circulation system. Consensus to include a new entry-Byzantine fault tolerance. Blockchain nodes receive a parametric weight for decision making.

Orchestrating honeypot deployment in lightweight container platforms to improve security
    (2025-02-01) Tulashvili, Yurii; Kosheliuk, Viktor
A significant evolution has occurred in the architectural and infrastructural domains of web applications over the past several years. Monolithic systems are gradually being superseded by microservices-based architectures, which are now considered the de facto standard for web application development owing to their inherent portability, scalability, and ease of deployment. Concurrently, the prevalence of this architecture has rendered it susceptible to specialized cyberattacks. While honeypots have proven effective in the past for gathering real-world attack data and uncovering attacker methods, their growing popularity has made them a specific target for cyberattacks. Traditional honeypots lack the flexibility of microservices architecture. Honeypots have proven effective in gathering authentic attack data and analyzing attacker tactics. The core idea that honey traps help identify malicious packets with minimal effort to remove incorrect alerts is preserved. In addition to identifying and documenting specific attack methods used by intruders, this system helps thwart attacks by creating realistic simulations of the actual systems and applications within the network. This effectively slows down and confuses attackers by making it difficult for them to gain access to real devices. This paper presents a groundbreaking approach to honeypot management within cybersecurity, utilizing virtual clusters and a microservice architecture to significantly improve the effectiveness of threat detection. To conduct our research, we initially surveyed the internet to pinpoint container and container management systems operating on standard ports that might be susceptible to attacks. The monitoring of the instrumented approach generated a massive dataset, enabling researchers to make significant inferences about the behavior and goals of malevolent users. We advocate for the implementation of honeypots on lightweight distribution orchestration tools installed on Ubuntu servers, situated behind a meticulously crafted gateway and operating on standard port configurations. In light of the scan outcomes, we recommend the deployment of honeypot orchestration on streamlined distributions. To better protect your systems based on our scan results, we recommend implementing honeypot orchestration for easier deployment and management. By deploying honeypots on lightweight operating systems, you can optimize resource usage and improve performance while maintaining essential capabilities. These capabilities include monitoring attack patternson vulnerable systems and analyzing the security measures implemented by those responsible for managing exposed systems.
