Globalisation and Digitalisation: The European Approach to Cutting-edge Educational Practices
(2024-09-30) Martyniuk, Alla; Zabiiaka, Iryna; Shevchuk, Anastasiia; Lobanova, Svitlana; Hubina, Alla; Melnychuk, Olha
The urgency of optimising the development of Ukraine’s education system is driven by the need to preserve intellectual potential and national identity against the backdrop of the priority of integrating into the European system in the context of post-war recovery. The research aims to identify gaps in existing studies on globalisation and digitalisation practices based on successful European experiences and propose a new research direction in immersive technologies. The innovative solutions proposed in the article pertain to immersive technologies integrated into the educational process to enhance material assimilation and create engaging experiences. The advantages of their application are highlighted, including the visualisation of abstract and complex learning concepts, stimulation of active participation in interaction with virtual objects and environments, development of creativity and problem-oriented thinking, and obtaining realistic experience. The study establishes that the implementation of advanced educational practices of the European community and the involvement of long-term international funding in synergy form potential optimal prerequisites for developing the higher education system in the national space through the differentiation of powers between various institutions, autonomy in the organisation of educational process management, and the formation of a competitive environment in the higher education sector.

Deformability of a glued wooden beam with pre-stressed composite reinforcement
(2024) Gomon, Petro; Babych, Yevgenij; Polishchuk, Mykola; Kysliuk, Dmytro Y.; Bandura, Irina; Pakholiuk, Orest; Shevchuk, Anastasiia
The article proposes a method for pre-stressing a reinforced glued wooden beam that involves placing steel reinforcement in the form of metal rods in the compressed zone and pre-stressed composite reinforcement in the form of tape in the tension zone. The procedure for pre-stressing is outlined, and experimental studies of such bending elements have been carried out. Graphs of the distribution of deformations in both wood and reinforcement along the height of the calculated cross-section during pre-stressing and without pre-stressing are provided. It was found that the load-bearing capacity of the reinforced glued wooden beam increased by 45% during the pre-stressing process with composite reinforcement in the tension zone.

Adhesion of Class A500C Steel Reinforcement to Concrete of Various Strengths
(2026) Chapiuk, Oleksandr; Filipchuk, Sergiy; Suvorov, Oleksandr; Pakholiuk, Orest; Kusliuk, Dmytro; Zadorozhnikova, Iryna; Uzhegova, Olga; Shevchuk, Anastasiia
New experimental data on the bond forces (bond stresses) between sickle-shaped ribbed steel reinforcement of class A500C and normal-weight concrete of various strength classes have been obtained. Pull-out tests of 16 mm diameter steel bars embedded in concrete prisms 5d (80 mm) high were conducted using a hydraulic tensile testing machine. An improved calculation methodology is proposed to ensure a reliable bond between A500C steel reinforcement and normal-weight concrete of varying strength levels. It was established that an increase in concrete strength leads to a proportional increase in the bond capacity of sickle-shaped reinforcement. A linear relationship between the maximum tangential bond stresses and concrete strength was identified, demonstrating good agreement with the experimental results. The proposed linear dependence can be applied in the design of reinforced concrete structures for calculating the ultimate bond strength between sickle-shaped steel reinforcement and normal-weight concrete of various strength classes.

Digital Transformations in Learning: New Approaches to Teaching Foreign Languages in the Modern Educational Environment
(2025-08-29) Yanovets, Anzhelika; Bondar, Tetiana; Kozak, Alla; Knysh, Tetiana; Shevchuk, Anastasiia; Voitenko, Iryna
Background: The modern education system is undergoing constant transformation under the influence of digital technologies that are being introduced into the learning process. Although digital technologies are widely used in foreign language learning, their advantages are controversial and require further study to determine their applicability. Therefore, the aim of this study was to determine the effectiveness of implementing digital technologies in foreign language teaching methods under experimental conditions at a local educational institution in Ukraine. Materials and Methods: The study used methods of analysis, synthesis, experimentation, testing, surveying, and statistical and graphical comparison. Results: The study involved 52 first-year students of the Faculty of Education who had taken an optional course in English. Depending on the teaching methodology, the students were divided into two groups: Group I (n = 26)—hybrid teaching methodology; and Group II (n = 26)—traditional methodology. The testing revealed higher results in writing, vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, and understanding of the context of video and audio materials, and text in Group I, which used digital technologies (electronic dictionaries, artificial intelligence, online learning applications, video and audio materials). In contrast, Group II showed better results in communication skills and dialogue skills, which were associated with a greater number of tasks involving live communication in the group. The survey results showed higher motivation after the course among students in Group I and a higher level of satisfaction with the course. In contrast, in Group II, the level of motivation after the course decreased, which was associated with a lower level of satisfaction with the course and lower results in acquiring linguistic skills. Conclusion: The results of the study showed the high effectiveness of digital technologies for learning a foreign language, which should be combined with live communication to improve communication skills and the ability to conduct a dialogue. Another positive aspect of digital technologies in foreign language learning was identified as a positive impact on motivation to learn and satisfaction with the course.

(Canada: University of Windsor, 2025) Martyniuk, Alla; Zabiiaka, Iryna; Shevchuk, Anastasiia; Lobanova, Svitlana; Hubina, Alla; Melnychuk, Olha
The potential of innovative learning technologies and digitalization is a key factor in the progressive development of the academic space within the context of educational environment integration. This article aims to study the potential of innovative learning technologies in the context of globalization and the digitalization of education, based on successful European experiences. It also pays special attention to immersive digital media that involve virtual and mixed-reality possibilities. To achieve these goals, a combined approach was applied, including the analysis of existing case studies and the formation of conclusions based on secondary data analysis. This research suggests ways to integrate immersive-learning tools into practice-oriented learning. These types of tools contribute to improving the processes of learning by students, allowing them to visualize complex and abstract definitions, motivate active participation in the learning process, develop creativity and practical skills of problem-based thinking, and provide realistic experiences of solving educational tasks in practice. This article substantiates that these innovations successfully used in developed countries of the European community will allow for the effective development of the national educational system in the post-war reconstruction of Ukraine. This article establishes the need to upgrade the existing educational development strategy to delineate powers between different management institutions, create a competitive environment in the educational sector, and expand opportunities for financing state-of-the-art projects in this area. The prospects for educational development are focused on the potential of immersive learning technologies, practice-oriented education, and interactive communication tools for competence-based learning.

Peculiarities of Using Stylistic Means in American Artistic Discourse
(Toronto, Canada: Sciedu Press, 2023) Martyniuk, Alla; Hubina, Alla; Kyseliuk, Nataliia; Tryndiuk, Valentyna; Voitenko, Iryna; Shevchuk, Anastasiia
The article analyzes the use of stylistic means in contemporary American novels about the challenges of postmodern society, such as terrorist attacks, loneliness in digital reality, and digital technologies. Descriptive, continuous sampling, dictionary definitions, and contextual and component analysis methods were used to analyze the language material from novels by Douglas Coupland and Don DeLillo. The analyzed stylistic units were diverse and characterized by an emotional and evaluative component, with negative assessments being the most common. The units were divided into thematic groups, such as drugs, money, human behavior, and success/failure. The place and role of stylistic units in the novels were related to their content and stylistic features, with colloquial lexical items playing a significant role in creating a special atmosphere. The study also identified prospects for analyzing current trends in the development of English spoken language based on the works of contemporary American authors. The article concludes that excerpts from the analyzed novels can be used in the study of professional terminology and in seminars on the course "Features of literary translation" to help students compare online terminology and Internet jargon in English and Ukrainian. The Internet as an object of fiction and the use of these works of fiction in teaching English deserve further study.
