    (2023) Skliarenko, Nataliia
The study focuses on the theoretical and practical aspects of multifunctional art-relaxation rooms in a learning environment. Such rooms become centers for solving several social problems, including overcoming stress not only among students but also among other vulnerable groups—combat veterans, retirees, and children. Implementing them in continuous practice becomes a relevant problem, especially with the consequences of the COVID-2019 pandemic. This study is based on a systematic approach and is interdisciplinary. The original methodology provides the analysis of different forms of relaxation space organizing in the historical context, and the formation of the main design standards for justifying the original concept of environment design. The practical result of the study is the multifunctional space of art-relaxation “Art-Tell-Iya,” which operates permanently at the Lutsk National Technical University (Lutsk, Ukraine). The classes of art-relaxation and art therapy for restoring the mental state of ATO/JFO (Joint Forces Operation) veterans, classes for small groups of students, and activities of various artistic orientations are held in this space. The design space helps to improve psychological state and form new life strategies for a person through art. The authors present their own experience in art-relaxation space designing, which is based on main design standards, such as multifunctionality, aesthetics, and imagery, as well as visual and communicative interactions. From the standpoint of the systematic approach, the art-relaxation space is implemented as a model of world perception and as a powerful visual communicative system aimed at improving a person’s psychological health. This study is an important step in the direction of solving the problem concerning the design of relaxation spaces in educational institutions for different visitors. It forms the base to conduct deeper research that is aimed at identifying connections between the design aspects and the efficiency indexes formation in the context of relaxation processes.

Creativity and Innovation in the Design of Public Service Announcements: Classification and Design Models
    (2023) Skliarenko, Nataliia
In the study, we analyzed the relationship between creativity and innovation in the design of public service announcements. Their synthesis became the basis for the creation of dynamic visual communications that changed the perception of social message. Using widely known examples of public service announcements, we rethought the content and project features of such phenomenon as public service announcement from a design point of view. We consider innovative public service announcement as a set of dynamic processes which are based on different types of interactions. Therefore, we put a focus on the integration of visual communications with the environment and, moreover, with a human being as an integral part of the information message. The study resulted in the classification of innovations in modern social advertising, which is based on creative experiments related to composition, human sensory sensations, communication and environmental technology. It has been proven that the creation of creative artistic images is based on universal design models, formed as a result of the synthesis of design thinking and innovation and, therefore, they are suitable for solving a wide range of social problems. The study substantiates the system of strategic goals for the development of innovative public service announcements which are aimed at sustainable development of society.

Peculiarities of Nanostructured Fabrics for Operation Under Thermal Impact
    (2024) Skliarenko, Nataliia
The article considers the urgent issue of developing protective clothing for work in adverse conditions during ultra-high heat exposure. As found, the heat-protective military clothing insufficiently provides the necessary preservation and impedes the calculation of the maximum effective time of protective action under severe operating conditions. As shown, the nanotechnology in the creation of modern textile materials tends to grow in accessibility from the economic and technological point of view. Therefore, new capabilities have emerged for modelling technological processes carried out at the nanoscale level. The advancement of this area is fostered by the growing demand for the latest materials with fundamentally new properties. This up-to-date approach is being applied and further developed in the research laboratories of the Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design. As confirmed, in multilayer clothing, the amount of air layers between individual layers of materials is insignificant. In addition, the amount of air layers in the garment package, rather than in the package of materials of the corresponding garment components, is found to be more significant. This is the factor being relied upon in the development of complex types of overalls for critical applications. Design and practical approaches to the creation of effective thermal protective packages applying modern textile materials of the ‘advanced textiles’ class are proposed in order to reveal the possibilities of creating critical components and elements of clothing as a starting point for the development of types of heat-protective clothing

Research on an intelligent fan cultural sustainability design method based on CPO-CNN-LSSVM
    (Springer Nature, 2026) Skliarenko, Nataliia
The integration of intangible cultural heritage (ICH) into innovative products is a key focus in the intersection of culture and technology. This study addresses the core challenge of balancing cultural authenticity with functional requirements in smart home systems, using the household smart fan as a case study centered on Miao ethnic culture. To this end, we developed a hybrid methodology: the Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process (FAHP) was first applied to quantify user emotional needs and Miao cultural style weights. Fuzzy Quality Function Deployment (FQFD) then translated these needs into critical design features. Finally, the Crested Porcupine Optimizer-Convolutional Neural NetworkLeast Squares Support Vector Machine (CPO-CNN-LSSVM) algorithm was employed to model the complex, nonlinear relationships and predict optimal design solutions. Our results demonstrate that this integrated approach effectively identifies culturally significant design features that align with user emotions, ensuring that products meet functional demands while embodying cultural value. The proposed framework offers a sustainable and systematic pathway for cultural inheritance through smart product innovation.

    (2022) Skliarenko, Nataliia
In this publication we concentrate our attention on finding the ways to deal with students’ stress during the COVID-2019 pandemic period and implement them into the constant practice. In the design practice we can consider stress not only as a negative, but also as a positive experience. We present our own experience that unites technologies in design education, design methods and some aspects of the art therapy. We examine students’ diploma projects simultaneously as the product of design and the process of design that have anti-stress effect and are the way for student to harmonize with their inner world in variable environment. We consider different ways of art visualization as the mechanism of selfactualization, decrease in anxiety and dealing with depressive conditions. The work outlines the strategy of using design creativity as the way of overcoming and preventing the effects of stress factors during studying in the context of global pandemic challenges
