Creativity and Innovation in the Design of Public Service Announcements: Classification and Design Models
    (2023) Skliarenko, Nataliia
In the study, we analyzed the relationship between creativity and innovation in the design of public service announcements. Their synthesis became the basis for the creation of dynamic visual communications that changed the perception of social message. Using widely known examples of public service announcements, we rethought the content and project features of such phenomenon as public service announcement from a design point of view. We consider innovative public service announcement as a set of dynamic processes which are based on different types of interactions. Therefore, we put a focus on the integration of visual communications with the environment and, moreover, with a human being as an integral part of the information message. The study resulted in the classification of innovations in modern social advertising, which is based on creative experiments related to composition, human sensory sensations, communication and environmental technology. It has been proven that the creation of creative artistic images is based on universal design models, formed as a result of the synthesis of design thinking and innovation and, therefore, they are suitable for solving a wide range of social problems. The study substantiates the system of strategic goals for the development of innovative public service announcements which are aimed at sustainable development of society.

Eco-oriented functional characteristics of outdoor clothing as an update to its design solutions
    (2023) Skliarenko, Nataliia
The article is devoted to the study of the functional characteristics of outdoor clothing, which in recent years has turned from clothing for tourism and outdoor activities into the development of streetwear in the structure of the modern fashion industry. The authors defined the main prerequisites for the development of a suitable range of clothing in a given segment of the fashion clothing market and outlined the main characteristics of increased comfort during its design. The article describes the chronological and technical stages of the formation of the outdoor industry, from the development of tourist equipment to the formation of models of everyday attire and clothing for outdoor activities. The main activities of leading designer brands operating in the outdoor clothing segment (from the 1960s to the present) are formulated. The main stylistic features of creating outdoor clothing in the conditions of modern environmental-oriented design trends and current fashion trends are determined. The basic principles of collaboration between designer brands of the outdoor segment and segments of creating pret-a-porter project images of the modern fashion industry are characterized. The conceptual principles of creating of youth streetwear are proposed, based on the styling of the basic characteristics of outdoor clothing. The functionality of clothes in the study is substantiated as compliance with the everyday life, the type of human activity, its appearance and psychological characteristics. It was determined that the development of active and extreme recreation, tourism, innovations in textiles and clothing production contribute the formation of current design trends in outdoor clothing, which is valued primarily for its functionality, rationality, and versatility. The main characteristics of the design of outdoor clothing and the differentiation of its design, both for use in the field of tourism and active recreation, and as a sample of street clothing, based on the typology of clothing design within the casual style direction, are formulated

Research on an intelligent fan cultural sustainability design method based on CPO-CNN-LSSVM
    (Springer Nature, 2026) Skliarenko, Nataliia
The integration of intangible cultural heritage (ICH) into innovative products is a key focus in the intersection of culture and technology. This study addresses the core challenge of balancing cultural authenticity with functional requirements in smart home systems, using the household smart fan as a case study centered on Miao ethnic culture. To this end, we developed a hybrid methodology: the Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process (FAHP) was first applied to quantify user emotional needs and Miao cultural style weights. Fuzzy Quality Function Deployment (FQFD) then translated these needs into critical design features. Finally, the Crested Porcupine Optimizer-Convolutional Neural NetworkLeast Squares Support Vector Machine (CPO-CNN-LSSVM) algorithm was employed to model the complex, nonlinear relationships and predict optimal design solutions. Our results demonstrate that this integrated approach effectively identifies culturally significant design features that align with user emotions, ensuring that products meet functional demands while embodying cultural value. The proposed framework offers a sustainable and systematic pathway for cultural inheritance through smart product innovation.

Artistic Language of Coded Information: the Principles of Visual Communication Signals Design
    (2022) Skliarenko, Nataliia; Vorobchuk, Mariia
The coding of information considerably simplifies using of informational blocks and increases the need of revising of visual language formation that relates to people’s perception. An improvement of aesthetic side of codes changes them into important element of visual communication. We consider the visual design of coded information from the position of the systemic approach, thus helping to involve people to communicate with the environment. For the first time in the study we revise coded information as a synthesis of mathematically programmed (metadata) and artistically designed components (code visualization). We prove that interaction of image, structure and context in creating of linear, two-dimensional and three-dimensional codes transforms them into an art work with a specific artistic language. As a result it becomes the powerful visual communication signal that can change the people’s perception and behavior. We offer the algorithm for the visual coded information design, where associative, variational and adaptive principles are at the base of it. Their practical using outlines the perspective direction of the visual communication system development towards the versatility and is suitable to be used in different spheres of society
