Item type:Наукова стаття, A Data-Driven Risk-Informed Decision Support Framework for Sustainable Municipal Organic Waste Management in Smart Cities(2026-06-08) Rudynets, Mykola; Fedorchuk-Moroz, ValentynaThe rapid growth of organic waste volumes in urban areas and increasing environmental pressures necessitate the transition toward sustainable and risk-informed municipal waste management systems. This study aims to develop a data-driven decision support framework for the risk-informed management of municipal organic waste within the context of sustainable urban development. The proposed approach integrates multi-source municipal data, advanced preprocessing techniques, entropy-based feature weighting, and an ensemble of machine learning models, including Random Forest, Gradient Boosting, and XGBoost. An integrated environmental risk index is formulated to quantify the state of the waste management system and to support predictive analytics. The results demonstrate high predictive performance and reveal that key risk drivers include demographic pressure, transport accessibility, infrastructure characteristics, and seasonal variability of waste generation. The developed framework enables the integration of predictive risk analytics into municipal decision support systems, facilitating optimized waste collection logistics, infrastructure planning, and early identification of critical conditions. The findings confirm that data-driven approaches can significantly enhance the efficiency and adaptability of urban waste management systems. The proposed framework contributes to sustainable urban development by supporting circular economy principles and enabling proactive, risk-aware governance of municipal organic waste systems.Item type:Наукова стаття, Review of Advances in Fire Extinguishing Based on Computer Vision Applications: Methods, Challenges, and Future Directions(2025-10-16) Loboichenko, Valentyna; Fedorchuk-Moroz, ValentynaThis paper examines the state-of-the-art in fire suppression technologies based on computer vision applications in the subject areas of computer science and engineering. The study involves a two-stage analysis of publications using keywords. This paper presents a bibliographic analysis of scientific literature from the Scopus database using VOSviewer software and the author’s methodological approach. General keywords were used for the initial analysis of the dataset, followed by a more detailed study with additional criteria and specific keywords. The categories considered in the article are as follows: Firefighting Robots, Fire Detection, Fire Suppression, Aerial Vehicles, and Computer Vision. It is shown that the research includes technical aspects of fire robots and systems, as well as the improvement of their software and hardware. The subsequent review highlights the important role of computer vision in improving the efficiency and effectiveness of fire suppression systems. It is noted that key advances include the development of sophisticated fire detection algorithms and the implementation of automated fire suppression systems. The study also discusses the challenges and future directions in this field, emphasizing the need for continuous innovation and interdisciplinary collaboration. This review provides valuable information for researchers, engineers, and practitioners in the field of fire safety by offering a comprehensive overview of state-of-the-art technologies and their applications in fire suppression.Item type:Наукова стаття, Activities of Professor Tomasz Rylski (1838‒1924) in the birth and development of tests of agricultural machines in the second half of the 19th century(Kyiv: DUIT , 2023) Klymenko, MykhailoThe aim of the study is a comprehensive assessment of the activity, scientific and creative achievements of Professor Tomasz Nikodem Ścibor-Rylski in the development of the field of testing agricultural machines in the second half of the 19th century. To achieve the aim of the study, the principles of historicism, scientificity and objectivity of coverage of historical phenomena and events were used based on the application of the historical-scientific method, methods of analysis and generalization. For the first time, a number of archival documents were introduced into scientific circulation, which shed light on the scientist's activities in the field of testing agricultural machines. In the article, based on archival data, the available creative work of the scientist, the main stages of his activity in the issue of the origin and formation of tests of agricultural machines and tools are updated. The activities of Professor T. Rylski contributed to the birth of the scientific foundations of agricultural tests, the formation of the principles of rational use of agricultural equipment by farmers of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. The professor's long-term participation in various agricultural exhibitions and competitions led to the laying of the foundations for the creation of the first agricultural testing station in Dublyany on the territory of western Ukraine. Justifying the need to create a test station, T. Rylski relies on the importance of the transition from the "exhibition" method of testing agricultural machines to testing at specialized stations. The scientist believed that it is the scientific approach to testing that will contribute to increasing the efficiency of the use of agricultural equipment and reducing errors during its operation. The formation of the Dublyany Higher Agricultural School, as a powerful scientific and testing center on the territory of modern Ukraine and Poland, is connected with the scientist's name. The creative heritage of T. Rylski indicates his invaluable contribution to the emergence of the scientific foundations of agricultural equipment testing. Therefore, it is precisely the absence of a special comprehensive study of scientific, creative and organizational activity of a scientist in the historiography of science and technology that determines the relevance of this study.
