    Modeling the Dynamics of Centerless Mortise Grinding on Rigid Supports

    The paper examines the influence of the dynamic parameters of the machine and the geometry of the adjustment of rigid supports on the formation of undulations of the surfaces of roller bearing rings. A complex mathematical model of the machine tool system for centerless mortise grinding was developed, and the influence of the dynamic parameters of the machine tool and the geometry of the setup of rigid supports on the formation of undulations of the processed surfaces was analyzed. The SWaAGL-50 mortise centerless grinding machine’s technological system is presented as a linear mechanical model, and the elastic movements along the ОХ axis are considered. Based on the equations of kinetic and potential energies compiled in the form of Lagrange, the equations of motion of the relevant elements of the technological system were obtained. The formula of the dynamic accuracy function was found, which characterizes the inconsistency of the movement of the grinding wheel and the part.

    Increasing the Speed and Performance of the Drupal CMS Server for Industrial IoT Technologies

    In this paper, the methods of increasing the speed and performance of the Drupal CMS-based server in IIoT technologies were analyzed. Three main load parameters were taken into account: processor time (CPU), level of server RAM usage, and disk memory usage level; on three pages of the WEB site (main, list of blogs, and a page with one blog) and two research methods were applied: generalized and detailed. Based on the results of the analysis of four options for optimizing Drupal CMS for IIoT technologies: basic, using additional installed modules, servers, and configurations, and Drupal Hooks, effective, simple, cost-effective methods were synthesized that guarantee an increase in server speed and productivity. It was found that the optimization of configurations and Drupal Hooks is the most effective since after its implementation, the response of a page with one blog increased by 9.32 requests per second; built-in optimization is extremely simple to implement and inefficient, while server-side optimization is inefficient, most complex and expensive to implement.

    Improvement of Operational Parameters for High-Precision Tribosystems

    In producing plunger pairs of high-pressure fuel pumps, product quality management has a problem of improving their durability and reliability. To improve the performance of products, it is advisable to pay special attention to the tribological characteristics of the friction surfaces that are part of such products, the conditions of their mutual contact, and lubrication. Using a scientific and experimental approach, friction pairs simulating the plunger pairs of high-pressure fuel pumps and aerial gases and diesel fuels used as working lubricants are investigated. The studies take into account the dual nature of friction. The obtained results do not contradict elastohydrodynamic and adhesion-deformation theories. A set of research equipment has been developed, demonstrating the occurrence of secondary currents in the contact zones and the effect of tribocavitation. In the process of friction, microbubbles dissolve in the diffuse contact region. It has been established that with certain types of microgeometric relief, contact load, and a temperature, it is possible to set precision surfaces, which may explain some types of failures of high-pressure fuel pumps and create conditions for expanding the temperature range of these products.

    The Structure of Automated Control Systems for Precision Machining of Parts Bearing

    One of the ways to improve the quality of bearing parts is the introduction of automatic control systems to improve the technological reliability of machines and increase the accuracy of machining of roller bearing rings. A significant advantage of these systems is that it is possible to compensate for technological factors by cheaper means compared to such as increasing the rigidity of the technological system, processing in modeswith lower productivity, processing using more passes, usingmanualmethods to compensate for wear of cutting tools, maintaining the required rigidity of the machine and the accuracy of its elements through periodic repairs. These methods are associated with either a loss of cyclical productivity or a significant loss of unproductive nature. Therefore, the errors of automated control systems should be considered as processing errors or as a scattering field of the dimensions of parts manufactured on a machine equipped with an automatic control system for precision machining. The share of error of the most automated control system in the total balance of the total size error is quite small and does not exceed 10…20%. The task of improving the accuracy and ensuring stability in technological systems is complex, so it is solved only by a comprehensive method by improving the accuracy of all elements of the technological system. Thus, automated control systems for precision machining of bearing parts is one of the main subsystems of flexible automated production in the concept of Industry 4.0.

    Research of Dynamic Processes of Working Medium Movement in a Vibrating Bunker

    The article presents the results of the study of the regularities of the formation of the circulating vortex motion of the working medium and the behavior of the vibrating hopper body under conditions of symmetric shock-impulse loading. It was established that such loads cause slow circulating motion of the medium, the intensity of which increases with the asymmetric nature of the impacts. This motion has the form of a ring or arc-shaped vortex, covering the entire volume of the working medium. For the analysis of vortex processes, it is advisable to use the integral form of the law of conservation of momentum within the control volume. It is shown that the average circulation speed depends on the impact force, the initial velocity of the vibrating hopper and the mass of the working medium, and the angular velocity of the vortex motion is proportional to the average circulation speed.

    Intermittent Abrasive Tool for Machining the Butt Ends of Bearing Rings

    A design of an intermittent abrasive tool has been developed for processing flat surfaces, in particular the ends of bearing rings. The presented design of the abrasive wheel allows to reduce the temperature of the surface layer and ensure its high cutting ability, which makes it possible to stabilize the quality parameters of the surface layer and avoid product defects. The use of the technology of supplying cooling fluid through the working surface of the abrasive wheel directly into the processing zone under pressure made it possible to minimize the width of the groove of the intermittent wheel and ensure its high cutting ability by preserving a large number of abrasive grains and cleaning the surface of the wheel from grinding products. The use of the presented design of the intermittent tool made it possible to improve the roughness of the ends of the bearing rings by 0.5 microns and increase the hardness of the surface layer by 1.5-2 HRC units, avoid burns, product defects and increase the efficiency of the process of flat abrasive processing.

    The Concept of Digital Description of Structural Elements of Technical Systems

    The paper presents the concept of a new approach to describing the elements of technical system structures, which provides new opportunities for increasing the level of automation of this information processing. This helps to improve the conditions for the initial stages of technical systems development, which relate to the synthesis of their structures and schemes and can currently be carried out only by humans. The paper proposes a methodology for forming a digital description of the characteristics of structural elements that can be combined into a single structure of a certain technical system. This description is based on the creation of a multidimensional vector, which can be further pro- cessed using appropriate mathematical tools, and therefore provides the possi- bility of automating the processing of this information. A methodology for forming vectors of description of structural elements of technical systems is proposed in accordance with the needs of their effective use in algorithms im- plemented by computer programming. The presented approach creates prereq- uisites for automating the processes of creating structures of technical systems, classifying technical systems, efficient storage in the form of a database, effi- cient search by a large number of features, etc

    Automatic System for Clamping Objects on Rotary Executive Links of Robotics for Safety Critical Application: Solution and Software for Modelling

The approach recommends utilizing software products developed specificallyfor this purpose.     Improvement of the Automatic Workpiece Clamping Mechanism of Lathes to Expand Technological Capabilities

    The force characteristics of actuators of automatic clamping mechanisms determine the forces of clamping workpieces in the spindle assemblies of lathes. It determines the opportunities for clamping the workpieces with a wide range of material characteristics and construction rigidity. The conducted work aims to develop a new method of measurement of the force characteristics of the drive of automatic clamping mechanisms. The measurement issue is solved by implementing the contactless method, which meets the requirements for ensuring the efficient operation of a high-speed spindle assembly. The developed structure provides new opportunities for creating a control system with better possibilities for interactive estimation of the clamping forces. The use of the developed design helps to increase the quality of clamping and, consequently, the productivity ofmachining workpieces with an expanded range of characteristics. The proposed design of the clamp drive does not contain radially movable parts and implements a contactless power supply. It is proposed to control the clamping mechanism by non-contact measurement of the torque at the input link of the mechanical drive in the range of 0–50 N·m

    Mathematical Model of a Backlash Elimination in the New Clamping Mechanism

    A theoretical model of the operation of the electromechanical mechanism for clamping cylindrical workpieces and tools on the spindle of metalworking machines during backlash elimination is considered. The considered design of the clamping mechanism is driven by an electric motor and has a number of advantages. On the basis of the model, analytical dependencies are proposed that describe the relationship between the movements of the elements of the mechanism during the first stage of the clamping process. The proposed analytical dependencies allow taking into account stages of the functioning of the mechanism when the forces of dissipative characters prevail in its work. The presented dependencies describe the position of the elements of the mechanism depending on the generalized coordinate, which is the angle of rotation of the electric motor rotor. This allows determining the position of the elements of the mechanism depending on time. The obtained dependencies are a precondition for the development of methods for optimizing the design of mechanisms of this type.
