Item type:Наукова стаття, Characteristics of Electromechanical Clamping Mechanism with Asynchronous Electric Motor(2020) Prydalnyi, BorysThe study investigates certain operating characteristics of the developed electromechanical actuator of a clamping mechanism for a lathe. The research was conducted using a previously designed special computer program which displays results in the form of graphs. The time dependencies of investigated characteristics have been found and analysed. The theoretical research results facilitate clarification of the peculiarities in operation and creation of the clamping mechanisms with an asynchronous motor. In particular, they contribute to defining appropriate adjustments for specified operating conditions and optimal parameters for structuralelements of mechanisms of this type.Item type:Наукова стаття, The Dynamic Model of the Automatic Clamping Mechanism with a Rotating Input Link(2021) Prydalnyi, BorysSome features of a new design of clamping mechanism drive for automatic fixing of cylindrical objects in metalworking machines are considered. One of the proposed design features is a rotating input link, which receives input energy in the form of rotational motion. The presented drive’s operation is considered a part of the clamping mechanism with a collet chuck. Furthermore, the clamping mechanism’s interaction with a drive of the main movement of a lathe is described. The dynamic model is presented as a system with lumped parameters, consisting of rigid bodies connected by inertialess elastic-dissipative links. The stages of the backlash elimination and conversion of the mechanism elements’ kinetic energy into the system’s stressed state’s potential energy are considered separately. The obtained results can contribute to the development of methods for calculating this type’s structures’ parameters. They can be helpful in the determination of more optimal geometric-mass parameters of the elements of these structures.Item type:Наукова стаття, Methodology and Tools for Computer-Aided Calculation of Characteristics of Electromechanical Clamping Drive Actuated by Induction Motor(2021) Prydalnyi, Borys; Kuznetsov, Yuriy; Lyshuk, VictorThe article is devoted to solving the problem of determining the parameters of electromechanical drives of clamping mechanism of lathes. The conducted research is directed at the creation of methodology for calculating the main characteristics of a mechanism for workpiece fixation, made on the basis of a new structure with an electromechanical drive. The obtained results were used to create a computer program, which presents the results of calculations in the form ofcharacteristics to time dependency graphs. The use of the developed tools makes it possible to study the mechanism operation as a process consisting of separate strictly defined stages. The obtained model identifies the change in characteristics as they move from one stage of operation to another. The developed research tools also allow defining the optimal adjustment of this type of mechanism.Item type:Наукова стаття, The Concept of Digital Description of Structural Elements of Technical Systems(Springer, Cham, 2025) Prydalnyi, BorysThe paper presents the concept of a new approach to describing the elements of technical system structures, which provides new opportunities for increasing the level of automation of this information processing. This helps to improve the conditions for the initial stages of technical systems development, which relate to the synthesis of their structures and schemes and can currently be carried out only by humans. The paper proposes a methodology for forming a digital description of the characteristics of structural elements that can be combined into a single structure of a certain technical system. This description is based on the creation of a multidimensional vector, which can be further pro- cessed using appropriate mathematical tools, and therefore provides the possi- bility of automating the processing of this information. A methodology for forming vectors of description of structural elements of technical systems is proposed in accordance with the needs of their effective use in algorithms im- plemented by computer programming. The structural diagram of the proposed device complies with the formulated security. recommendations.Item type:Наукова стаття, Improvement of the Automatic Workpiece Clamping Mechanism of Lathes to Expand Technological Capabilities(2023) Prydalnyi, BorysThe force characteristics of actuators of automatic clamping mechanisms determine the forces of clamping workpieces in the spindle assemblies of lathes. It determines the opportunities for clamping the workpieces with a wide range of material characteristics and construction rigidity. The conducted work aims to develop a new method of measurement of the force characteristics of the drive of automatic clamping mechanisms. The measurement issue is solved by implementing the contactless method, which meets the requirements for ensuring the efficient operation of a high-speed spindle assembly. The developed structure provides new opportunities for creating a control system with better possibilities for interactive estimation of the clamping forces. The use of the developed design helps to increase the quality of clamping and, consequently, the productivity ofmachining workpieces with an expanded range of characteristics. The proposed design of the clamp drive does not contain radially movable parts and implements a contactless power supply. The conducted research is aimed at developing new approaches to the creation of automatic clamping mechanisms with qualitatively new and necessary characteristics of their functioning. The formation of new characteristics is achieved by implementing appropriate changes at the structural level of an object.Item type:Наукова стаття, Mathematical Model of a Backlash Elimination in the New Clamping Mechanism(2022) Prydalnyi, BorysA theoretical model of the operation of the electromechanical mechanism for clamping cylindrical workpieces and tools on the spindle of metalworking machines during backlash elimination is considered. The considered design of the clamping mechanism is driven by an electric motor and has a number of advantages. On the basis of the model, analytical dependencies are proposed that describe the relationship between the movements of the elements of the mechanism during the first stage of the clamping process. The proposed analytical dependencies allow taking into account stages of the functioning of the mechanism when the forces of dissipative characters prevail in its work. The presented dependencies describe the position of the elements of the mechanism depending on the generalized coordinate, which is the angle of rotation of the electric motor rotor. This allows determining the position of the elements of the mechanism depending on time. The obtained dependencies are a precondition for the development of methods for optimizing the design of mechanisms of this type.Item type:Наукова стаття, Identification of Analytical Dependencies of the Operational Characteristics of the Workpiece Clamping Mechanisms with the Rotary Movement of the Input Link(2021) Prydalnyi, Borys; Sulym, HeorhiyThe research is devoted to the problem of determining the efficiency of the workpiece fixing mechanism operation. Improving characteristics of workpiece fixing is one of the required conditions to increase the cutting modes, which may help to enhance the machining productivity. The study investigates the main characteristics and general features of a new structure of clamping mechanisms with electromechanical actuators for fixation of rotation bodies. The main advantages of using electromechanical clamping actuators with self-braking gear are presented. Two simplified dynamical models for the description of different stages of the clamping process are developed. The calculation scheme was formulated to find out how the mass-geometric parameters of mechanism elements should influence the main characteristics of the clamping mechanisms of this type.Item type:Наукова стаття, Mathematical model of the tensioning in the collet clamping mechanism with the rotary movable input link on spindle units(2021) Prydalnyi, Borys; Sulym, HeorhiyThe article presents a mathematical model of tensioning in a collet clamping mechanism with a rotary movable input link designed for spindle units. The study is aimed at improving workpiece clamping processes in machine tools through a more accurate determination of the mechanism’s force parameters. The proposed model takes into account the geometric and kinematic characteristics of the clamping system components as well as the features of force transmission during operation. An analysis of the relationship between the design parameters of the mechanism and the resulting clamping force is carried out. The obtained results can be used to optimize the design of spindle units, increase their operational reliability, and ensure the stability of machining processes. The developed mathematical model provides a basis for further research and improvement of clamping devices used in modern machine-tool systems.
